Michael Paul and the Rift (MP&TR) is a Southern California rock band known for high-energy live shows and emotionally resonant songs blending alternative, indie, soul, Hot AC, and progressive rock.
Starting March 1, MP&TR is launching a 16-week, 16-song rollout celebrating fan-favorite tracks refreshed with a new band name, new logo, polished cover art, clever videos, and professional animations. This campaign is designed to attract new listeners while giving longtime fans an exciting, highly shareable experience across all major music platforms.

Recent Highlights
MP&TR performed a livestream set at WildCat Guitars/Studios in Escondido, CA, becoming one of the most viewed performances in WildCat’s history. Their single “Under The Gun” qualified for the 2023 San Diego Music Awards, and the band consistently ranks in the Top 10 on the ReverbNation Rock Charts in Oceanside, CA.
About Michael Paul
Singer, songwriter, producer, and independent label manager, Michael began his career in Boston before founding Deep Under Green (DUG) in Los Angeles, performing at The Troubadour and The Roxy. His vocal style has drawn comparisons to Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, and James Hetfield. As a solo artist, his EP REACH earned multiple “Best Song of the Year” awards and “Best Male Vocalist” honors from RadioGetsWild.com.
